Principles of operation
The Vertical Disc Divider (VDD) is designed for representative division of bulk material and is preferred for a small and fixed division rate.

The material is fed to the Vertical Disc Divider through the top section. Here the material hits the rotating vertical disc which has a radial sample opening out from the rotating shaft. The horizontal shaft is supported by two bearings and rotated directly by a drive unit. The material going into the divider is either reflected by the moving disc and led through the reject outlet part of the bottom or is passing through the hole in the disc and falls into the sample outlet part of the bottom.
The Vertical Disc Divider is manufactured of stainless steel and essentially consists of the following units:
- Drive unit
- Dividing disc
- A wall in the middle separates the housing into two:
- One side of the housing is with an inlet at the top, a reject outlet in the bottom and 2 inspection hatches.
- The other side of the housing is with a sample outlet and 2 inspection hatches
